Mark Reyes, MSA

Mark Reyes, MSA is a Filipino-Canadian artist based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Working primarily in oil, his practice bridges cultures and traditions, shaped by his Kapampangan heritage and influenced by the landscapes and wildlife of the Canadian Prairies.

Mark’s paintings span portraiture, landscape, wildlife, and urban scenes, brought together through a refined balance of realism and impressionism. Portraiture holds a central place in his work. For Mark, each face carries its own history—stories, aspirations, and the quiet truths of lived experience. His approach goes beyond likeness, aiming to reveal a deeper sense of presence in his subjects.

He is an active member of the Manitoba Society of Artists and an associate member of the Society of Canadian Artists. His work has been exhibited in juried and group exhibitions, including the Winnipeg Fine Art Fair (2025), the Manitoba Society of Artists Open Juried Exhibition & Competition (2024, 2025), and the Kaleidoscope Group Art Show (2024–2025). His painting Corpus received Second Place at the 2025 MSA Open Juried Exhibition, and Karaban has been acquired into the Government of Manitoba’s permanent collection. Beyond the studio, Mark is committed to community and service. He is a member of the Transcona Rotary Club and the founder of the Reyes Family Foundation, through which proceeds from his work support education, nourishment, and infrastructure initiatives in the Philippines. He also serves on the boards of the Manitoba Society of Artists and Mabuhay District Inc. Through both art and philanthropy, he continues to pursue what he sees as the purpose of creativity: to bring beauty and meaning into everyday life.
